wood jigsaw puzzle

Wooden toys might have been relegated to nostalgia lane these last couple of decades. Why so? Because of the popularity of electricity operated toys and gadgets. Our parents used to spend their afternoons after school pushing wooden pegs in chess and checkers sets. Our sons and daughters are hitting the keys of a computer playing the same games. Our elders played with a wood jigsaw puzzle that had all of 24 pieces; our children tackle cardboard jigsaw puzzles with pieces that run up to hundreds.
Fortunately, wooden children toys are still available if we decide to go look for them. They have advantages over the more common plastic toys. Wooden toys last longer; they can endure more wear and tear. They are safe from toxic PVC and as long as non-toxic paints are used to color the pieces, they are safe for children’s use. They bring us back to the simpler pleasures of life.
