Now you are raring to ride your skateboard. It will do you well to learn a few tricks while riding your longboard skateboard. What is sliding? Sliding is when the rider pulls his board out and gets it so the wheels are not gripping the pavement and can be moved freely. Slides are done to make a quick stop. It is also being done just for the fun of it and sometimes, to show off.

Learn also the different ways of getting off the longboard because it can be one of the more difficult things that you have to learn. One way is to wind brake by standing erect with arms outstretched to increase wind resistance. This will reduce speed. Another way is by carving. This is the act of making turns across the road to control speed. You can also roll for the road unto another surface that offers more resistance. Another method that should be used as a last recourse is by jumping off.
