There are various ways of combining recreation and sports like biking, hiking and tennis to name a few. Roller skating is actually travelling using roller skates. So aside from it being a form of sporting activity, it also becomes a means of transportation. There are two basic types of roller skates: the quad roller skates where it has 4 wheels with 4 bearings arranged as that of a car and the inline skates which has 2-5 wheels arranged in a single line.

Roller skating is known for its countless benefits. It is good in losing weight for studies have shown that it is equivalent to jogging. With this activity, you could burn up to 600 calories while skating 10 miles/hr. Just like cycling, it could engage all body muscles and could help increase heart rate. Truly, roller skating is like mixing work with pleasure!
