Busy Boy

Every morning I would have to wake up early in order to prepare breakfast for the entire family. The only time I get to slow down is when my two older kids get picked up by the bus and my husband goes off to work. By that time, I would have my youngest awake and ever active to play with me. Next year he too will be in school and I will be all by myself at home.

Since I would need to do a number of chores around the house, I need to make sure that I can keep my little one busy so I can finish everything on time. I got him a number of toys in his toy chest, including those toy building blocks which are his absolute favorite. This is my way of keeping him quiet and busy so I can move on with my chores so I can get everything settled so I can join him in playing.

Counting Facts

I remember the time when I was a child and my grandfather taught me how to count using the abacus. It was something that was part of our culture, and although I was born and raised in the US my grandfather still wanted me to learn a few things about our country of origin and the ways by which they go about their lives. It was interesting to be able to learn this and even bragged the same then to my friends.

Now that I have my own kids, I wanted to be able to share snippets and pieces of my Chinese heritage with them. I wanted to be able to introduce him to the same concepts I learned as a child so I looked for a toy abacus for my son. It was a good thing that these things are still readily available in the market, so I can pass on what I have learned to my kids.

Making It Work

I have always been great with my hands, trying to find ways on how to fix things and make everything work whenever they broke down. Growing up without a father and the eldest among four siblings I have been used to helping out my mom managing the house and fix a few things that needed repair. I grew up being relied on and that has pushed me to be quite handy in the long run.

This is the reason why when it comes to my toys now I prefer to personally repair and enhance these things. I always get excited over RC helicopter parts since I know that I can tweak my collection in performing much better than before. I know that it would take some time before I finish a project, but seeing the final piece is always well worth it.

Baby Sitting

Since I have an online business, I would not need to go anywhere else just so I can earn a stable income for myself. I have a five year old son who is now studying so I have my schedule almost always free these days. My neighbor on the other hand, had just gotten out of an abusive relationship. She has a 6 month old son and would need to work in order to provide for the both of them.

I know how difficult it is to be in that position, since I have also gone through the same thing in the past. She was actually shocked that I was willing to watch her son while she was at work so that she would not have to pay additional for babysitters who may not even know a thing about taking care of babies. She would bring her son over along with some baby toys and feeding bottles in the morning and pick him up right after work. This is the least I can do for a single mother like her who I also happen to be.

Paying A Visit

My sister and I have not been talking to each other for a few years now. We have had some disagreements on a lot of things, issues which were kind of petty but no one actually was humble enough to give in and make the effort to reach out. As time passed, we both had gotten quite used to not seeing each other or talking even since that day we argued.

I was surprised though when she called me the other day and told me that she had just given birth. After catching up on things we both said our apologies to each other and regretted not having to find ways on how to work out our differences. I got my new nephew a stuffed hippo from the internet, thankful that he was the one who had brought the both of us back together. I look forward to catching up with my sister and moving on from the past from now on.

Remembering My Childhood

Now that I have my own kids, I wanted them to feel the same excitement and happiness I felt whenever I look back into my childhood. One of the reasons why I had such an enjoyable one was because there were four of us siblings in the family, and that made everything much more exciting. Now I only have two children and have no plans to add any further, so I would want them to also share wonderful memories even if they are only two.

One of the things I got for the backyard is this tether ball portable I found on the internet. This was one of the things my brothers and I enjoyed growing up, and we would spend our afternoons in our house playing until our mom called us in for snacks. These simple things are the ones that are stuck in my head, memories that will forever remain in me.

Joining The Block

My son came home the other day looking pretty sad when he was supposed to be in high spirits after going next door to play with a few friends. Apparently most of his playmates have the radio flyer scooter, and they all went out riding in my neighbor’s backyard the entire time. Since my son did not have any, he felt as if he was left out the entire time, and felt really bad because of it.

I knew how difficult it could be for a child to feel that way, since I grew up in a neighborhood where most of the time I did not have the toys which my neighbors would play with. I certainly did not want the same feeling for my son, so I got online and ordered his own Radio Flyer scooter. When the package arrived a few days later, my son could hardly believe his eyes. Now he can play all he wants with his friends.

At Home Mother

One of the best decisions I have made in life is to become a full time mother. I was able to marry late in life, but that did not stop me from realizing my dream of becoming a mother. So when the opportunity arose, I made sure that I would immerse myself completely in order to fully grasp and experience what it is like to be a full time mother. At that point in time then, I only wanted to focus on what matters the most to me.

Now I have two kids, aged 3 and 4, and they are the center of my life at this point. We spend the entire day playing toddler games right after I am done with chores around the house, while my husband goes to the office to provide for the family. I can never be too happy with what I have in my life right now, and I am thankful for having the gift of bearing children who I love the most.

Discovering Alphabet

As a mother, I wanted to be able to teach my daughter a number of things right away and as soon as she is able to grasp these certain kinds of concepts. I am also a teacher, and I know that these kids would need to be trained and taught early on for them to grasp more. Their brains act like sponges, ready and willing to absorb the information we provide for them.

What I did was I incorporated a few things into my daughter’s room which can allow her to get familiarized in a number of things. One of the best furniture in the room is this alphabet soup bench seat I found on the internet, which will work perfectly to get my daughter started in letters. Before I know it, she will soon be ready for school and learn more than just the alphabet.

Completing The Display

When it comes to all things RC, I must agree that my boyfriend is one of those who can’t seem to get enough of these toys. I met him in this competition which a friend of mine pushed me to accompany him in, and I was glad I went since this is the one thing which brought us together. At least something great came out of the whole thing.

When I visited his apartment, I was shocked that he had a whole display of his toys in his living room and even his own room. He carefully cleans and maintains all of these Esky helicopters to make sure that it does not deteriorate at all. I am surprised that he has kept these toys all these years, back from the time that his father first got him his first helicopter.
