Veggietales

Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber are the main characters of this series of computer animated films. Veggietales are educational in that they convey moral themes based on Christianity, often compatible with Judaism. The writers often incorporate references to pop culture and current events in the stories. Veggie Tales started on television before it spawned a wider exposure in the form of books, music CDs and consumer items that included toys, clothing and seeds for vegetable and flowers. Stage shows have also been produced and toured across the US.

Children will love Veggie Tale activities that include crafts, games and printable materials. Young children can recreate the characters with the use of simple materials. Using a printed template and materials such as paper, scotch tape or glue and sticks they are able to make a puppet of Bob the Tomato or Larry the Cucumber. They can also make a bigger version without the stick and use it to play ‘pin the nose on the tomato’. It is amazing how they can be taught moral values in the most fun and entertaining way.
