Roller skating is a physical activity that involves traveling on smooth surfaces using roller skates. Some see it as a form of recreation while others treat it like a sport. My cousin and I use our street roller skates as a mode of transportation. We found that we get to move from place to place faster if we have our skates on.

I even use my roller skates when going to school. Our house is just a couple of blocks away and I find that it’s good exercise without tiring me out too much. I just bring along an extra bag where I store my skates and other safety gear while I go to class. When it’s time to go home, I just take out my skates and gear and off I go zipping down the road towards home.

I recently bought skates for my nephew with a lighted rolling skate wheel. I liked it so much that I bought one for myself. But a few months later I came across a store that sold not just any kind of lighted skate wheels but that of the lighted rolling skate wheel variety! You see I like skates. When I was growing up back in the 70s, we had roller skates. I was pretty good at it although they were so heavy. Then in the 90’s the rollerblades became so popular, that even celebrities were photographed wearing them. I tried using my cousin’s rollerblades but they were also too heavy for me. In the past few years I have seen my nieces and nephews run around in their shoe skates. They looked just like sneakers except that there were wheels under which you could pull up so you could skate.

Today there are roller wheels that you can strap on children’s shoes. You can also replace and change the wheels to whatever color you want, you can even replace them with lighted skate wheels.
