In my home, it is a rule that during school nights there would absolutely be no television, kids video game & games. This is so they can focus on the things they would need to do for school. It will also keep their minds on the projects and assignments which need to be done during the week. It can be quite an effective way of going about their school work. Distractions may affect the academics of my children, so I am particularly strict on this rule.

During the weekend though, they have the freedom to do what they want. This provides them a reward system after working hard the whole week. I would only want my kids to grow up and be successful in their chosen field. Weekend is meant for fun and bonding time with the family. Kids video game & games never fail to get my children excited. We now have a great system which will get them to benefit in the long run.

Generally speaking, outdoor games for kids can be much fun than playing inside the house. With outdoor kids games, kids can feel free to run, jump, and yell without disturbing adults. One of the most popular outdoor games for kids is called tag. To play this game, one of the kids agrees to be the “it”, which means the chaser or the tagger. The “it” runs after all of his or her playmates and attempts to touch, or “tag” them. Once the “it” tags one of the playmates, that tagged playmate becomes the “it” and must chase after everyone else.

Another popular outdoor game for kids is called hopscotch. In this game, someone creates a hopscotch drawing on the ground with chalk. This consists of eight sections which are numbered. Each player starts out with a marker, often a stone or a bottle cap. A player tosses the marker into square one, and without touching that square, hops into square two, continuing to hop all the way to the final square, turning around, and hopping back again. On the way back, the player picks up the marker, hops onto the square and off the hopscotch drawing.

Everybody knows how to play chutes and ladders! This is the game that every kid had or at least played with their neighbors. It’s a very simple yet fun game of chance to get to the finish line. And up to now, it’s one of the best games kids love to play.

There’s really no big change from the original game to the game we see now. We still see the famous chutes you slide down on and the ladder you climb up to. Just a single move can send you tumbling down to the starting line while the best ladder brings you closer to home. This is definitely one classic game to have!

Games are always a part of social gatherings. Whether they are as simple as a poker game or as complex as a board game, these are good activities to develop social relationships among the guests. Dinner games have always been a favorite of mine. My friends and I would stay at the dinner table after eating and play A Murder on the Grill.

This game begins with a car dealer is iced over his hot grill, and the perpetrator is at your dinner party. Six to eight of your friends can play different roles with scripts and suggestions to ham it up. The game is purchased with audio tapes for guides, background stories for each character in the game, special clues, and anything else you need for some unpredictable fun.

What do you do when you have a generation gap? My husband and I got married late. We were in our mid 30s; there is a 38 year age gap between us and our son. All of our friends who have kids let their kids play video games at home. My husband and I are both not into video games. We do not want our son to become a couch potato. We vowed to come up with fun family games to keep us busy this summer.

We have listed down some fun family games we could do. These are mostly outdoor games and do not involve computers or video games. Since he is only two years old we are teaching him how to play catch using inflated balls. We are also teaching him simple board games. We also play basketball and volleyball using kid sized balls and a short net.

Everybody looks forward to Halloween. Aside from the usual trick or treat, various parties are held to grace this yearly occasion. Murder mystery game is commonly played in these kinds of parties. This is the game wherein one plays as a secret murderer and the rest would determine who it was. Some will involve murders throughout the game and some would open with a death and an investigation will be the main focus of the game.

There were several versions of murder mystery games that evolved through time. Turn-based games are played around the table wherein participants ask questions and they learn something new about the case as the game progresses. There are interactive games that are characterized by the players having different motives. These are best played on cocktails.

Who does not remember this game for future business tycoons? Based on the concept of domination of a market, it must have been the favorite game of The Trump when he was a little boy. Being the most commercially-successful board game ever, Monopoly was played by 485 million players worldwide. This, after coming out with several versions for different countries.

There were those who were not great fans of the game. A former Wall Streeter once wrote on Wired Magazine that “Monopoly is a very negative experience. It’s all about cackling when your opponent lands on your space and you get to take all their money.” Didn’t somebody say similar negative things about Sesame Street on its first couple of years in production? Well, it just took time to prove them wrong.
